Welcome to Manuscripts! We have written this brief guide to help you get effectively started: you will find below an overview of the interface and the Manuscripts philosophy to writing. We then we show give you tips to help you outline and edit your manuscript, and to prepare the manuscript with its figures, tables and equations for publication.

The Manuscripts inteface consists of the following three key components:
On top of these, above the editor area and the inspector, you find the Toolbar, which provides simple formatting and insertion options.
Finally, at the bottom of the window you find the Status bar, which provides options for toggling the outline and inspector areas, and show you messages and statistics about your manuscript.
The Outline helps you summarise and edit the manuscript structure in several powerful ways. You can toggle it on or off using View > Show Outline / Hide Outline, or the blue button in the Status Bar.
